Orlando, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF spirit program opened the year with another impressive performance at nationals in January before closing out the Knights' basketball season. But the Black and Gold has certainly remained busy this year.

Sophomore cheerleader Courtney Morris and freshman dance team member Emily Swank helped take the Pyrus Angels All Star youth cheerleaders on a tour of campus, including a visit to Bright House Networks Stadium.

Swank and her KnightMoves dance team also acted as tour guides for approximately 40 middle school dancers from Melbourne that were on a visit to campus.

Then in late March, UCF's spirit team joined Junior Achievement and the Burnett Honors College in hosting and entertaining more than 500 fifth graders from Orange County elementary schools, and the Knights will host another 500 seventh graders in the middle of April.

Knightro got into the act as well, visiting East Lake Elementary School and Oak Hill Elementary School to encourage students to do well on the FCAT exams, and cheered on runners at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Run on the UCF campus.

And UCF spirit has a group scheduled to help present awards at the end of the year banquet for "the Sparklers," which is a cheerleading team of about 60 special needs children sponsored by the City of Altamonte Springs.
