TAMPA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The 2010 edition of the Knights Tour kicked off on Thursday night with a nice event at The Rusty Pelican right on the shores of Tampa Bay.
Football coach George O'Leary, men's basketball coach Donnie Jones, women's basketball coach Joi Williams and ever-affable volleyball coach Todd Dagenais were on hand along with representatives for the UCF Athletic ticket office, Golden Knights Club, Alumni Association and more to spread the good word of the excitement in Orlando down to the western end of I-4.
After heavy appetizers and beverages were served and highlight videos were shown to the crowd, the speaking program began, highlighted by question and answer sessions with Jones and O'Leary on a wide array of subjects.
The caravan will be rolling up to Atlanta on May 12 with a stop at the FOX Sports Grill in Atlantic Station. Plans are also being finalized for an Orlando stop in late May and will be announced here at UCFAthletics.com.
The events are free compliments of the Golden Knights Club and UCF Athletics, but fans planning to attend should RSVP by calling (407) 823-2086 or via e-mail at goldenknightsclub@athletics.ucf.edu.
