ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - When Conference USA announced the commissioner's academic honor roll last week, members of the UCF men's basketball team were prevalent on the list. In fact, seven Knights were recognized, the most among any men's basketball team in the league.
Rice and Tulsa, who both placed four on the list, were closest to the Knights among men's basketball squads. Student-athletes named to the honor roll have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Among the Knights earning academic accolades were sophomores A.J. Rompza (Chicago, Ill.) and Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), freshman forward Keith Clanton (Orlando, Fla.) and freshman guard Marcus Jordan (Chicago, Ill.). In March, Sosa was one of five league players voted onto the C-USA Men's Basketball Academic Team. He was the first UCF student-athlete to earn a spot on the all-academic squad since it was created in 2007.
