ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the second-straight day, UCF has received impressive news from the Conference USA league office as 28 different student-athletes were announced as recipients of a C-USA Academic Medal, symbolic of maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher.
The women's rowing and track and field teams led the way for the Knights with five student-athletes on each squad earning a C-USA Academic Medal. Sasha Baxter, Megan Donnelly, Shelby Flynn, Heather Hart and Chelsea Lauzon earned the medal on the rowing team while the track and field team had Santrell Atkins, Dan'Elle Bellamy, Champelle Brown, April Downey and Brittany McCord awarded.
Yesterday, 221 Knights were named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for having a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. That total ranked second among C-USA institutions and was also the second-straight season that UCF had 220-plus student-athletes on the honor roll.
