ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - As voted on by their peers, UCF volleyball's Sara Rex (Oldsmar, Fla.) and Nichole Riedel (Denver, Colo.) were recently named to the UCF Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board.
Rex, a junior, was named the SAAC President, while Riedel, a redshirt sophomore, was voted on as the Co-Vice President.
"It shows that we are taking great steps in our program when our student athletes are recognized by their peers as great leaders," head volleyball coach Todd Dagenais said.
The mission of UCF's SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting communication between student-athletes and athletic department administration, protecting the voice and well-being of student-athletes on the local, conference, and national levels and fostering a positive student-athlete image campus-wide and in the Orlando community through service.
SAAC is comprised of at least two representatives from each varsity team who meet twice a month throughout the academic year. Athletic administrators attend regularly to provide departmental updates to the team representatives. All meetings are open to any student-athlete.
