ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team hosts its final regular season match this Tuesday at the UCF Tennis Complex against Embry-Riddle at 2 p.m. The match is Senior Day for the Knights, as they recognize the last home contest for three of their players.
On Saturday the Knights(10-7) traveled to Tampa, where they defeated USF, 4-3. After sweeping doubles to start the day, the squad continued on to win three of the six singles contests to claim the victory. Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) clinched the match for the Knights after defeating Romain Deridder, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4. The other two singles wins came from seniors Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) and Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden).
The Eagles rose to 16-4 on the year Thursday after a 6-1 win over Florida Southern.
The first 50 Knight fans to attend the match on Tuesday will receive a free UCF bandana. Admission to all matches at the UCF Tennis Complex is free.
