ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) is one of five league players voted onto the 2009-10 Conference USA Men's Basketball All-Academic Team, the league office announced Friday. Sosa is the first UCF student-athlete to earn a spot on the all-academic squad since it was created in 2007.

A general business major, Sosa boasts a 3.62 cumulative grade point average. On the court, he is the Knights' second-leading scorer at 10.4 points per game. The shooting guard ranks second in C-USA, shooting 42.9 percent from deep.

Sosa has led the Knights in scoring seven times this year, and has scored in double-figures on 14 occasions. He also has a pair of 20-point scoring performances.

Sosa has connected on at least three 3-pointers in a game 13 times in 2009-10. Most recently, he totaled 20 points and shot 6-of-9 from deep in UCF's triple-overtime contest at Marshall last week. Sosa sent the game into extra sessions, nailing a 35-point triple with 1.5 seconds to play in regulation.

Representatives from each C-USA school's media relations office selected the all-academic team. Sosa was joined on the squad by Connor Frizzelle and Lucas Kuipers of Rice, George Drake of UAB and Isaac Gordon of UTEP.
