Game-Changing Moment
With UCF in the lead 1-0, the Knights issued a leadoff walk to start the bottom of the second and the floodgates would open moments later, highlighted by Travis Trial's two-run single with nobody out to push UH's advantage to 4-1. The Cougars would eventually score eight times in the inning.

Houston, Texas (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF had one more chance to take the series at Houston but came up empty in a 20-3 seven-inning loss to the Cougars (12-10, 2-1) Sunday. Chris Duffy did extend his hitting streak to 16 games, but the Knights' record fell to 15-10 overall and 1-2 in Conference USA.

Just like Saturday evening, the Knights had the bases juiced in the first inning as UH righty Eric Brooks gave up two hits and two walks in the frame yet still could not light up the scoreboard. UCF tried again in the second when Austin Johnston lined a two-strike single to right and touched second on an error. Following a sac bunt from Alex Friedrich, Darnell Sweeney produced a sacrifice fly to center for the 1-0 lead.

Houston struck back moments later in a big way, taking advantage of a leadoff walk from lefty Nick Cicio to bring across eight runs on four hits. The Cougars quickly sealed it with three more in the third and two in the fourth as they were on their way to the victory.

UCF now looks ahead to a five-game week as it plays a home-and-home with Bethune-Cookman, hosting the Wildcats Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Daytona Beach Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Knights will then host UAB Friday as well as a doubleheader with the Blazers Saturday.
