ATHENS, Ga. (UCFAthletics.com) - Freshman Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) was UCF's top shooter on Saturday to pace the Knights women's golf team in the second round of the Liz Murphey Classic at the par-72, 6,335-yard University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens. The strong field includes 12 Top 25 teams amongst its 23 members.

Overall UCF shot a 327 on Saturday, three strokes better than its opening round of 330 on Friday, and stands in 21st place through 36 holes of competition with a 657 (+81). No. 4 Duke continues to pace the generally high-shooting field a 600 (+24), nine strokes better than No. 2 Auburn which sits in second place with a 609 (+33).

On a day when no golfer in a field of 120 that includes 37 of the nation's top 100 shot under par, Pinegger's round of 77 ranked amongst the best in the field. Through two rounds overall, Pinegger is second amongst the Knights with a 163 behind only fellow freshman Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile). Fontaine's 83 on Saturday, combined with her sizzling 75 in Friday's first round, gives her a 158 after 36 holes.

Junior Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) is third amongst Knights in Athens with a 167 while senior Victoria Tomko (Lontzen, Belgium) is fourth with her 169 and sophomore Elisa Aoki (Bradenton, Fla.) rounds out UCF's contingent with her 179.

The final round will be played on Sunday morning in Athens with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
