UCF Volleyball Scrimmage vs. Marquette Moved to the Venue at UCF at 6 p.m.

March 19, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Originally slated to be held at the Orlando Sports Center, the UCF volleyball scrimmage against Marquette Saturday will now be played at the Venue at UCF at 6 p.m.

The Black and Gold is coming off a 12-18 record during the 2009 season, while the Golden Eagles finished their fall slate with an 18-12 overall mark.

The scrimmage between the two squads is the finale in what is an exciting day for the Knights. Action kicks off at 12 p.m. Saturday with a contest against in-state rival USF, with the two teams either playing a match of two games to 25 points and one game to 15 points, or participating in several instructional drills.

The Bulls come to Orlando with a bitter taste in their mouths following a five-game nail biter in which the Black and Gold stole a victory from USF in Tampa to conclude the 2009 season. USF finished its 2009 season with an 18-10 clip, which included a home-and-home split with UCF.

Many Knights taking the floor in the spring event played in that match last November, but there will be some new faces for the Black and Gold as well, including experienced newcomer, Marie Reitrova (Rokycany, CZE), and the incredibly athletic Angelica Crump (Atlanta, Ga.), who Dagenais is excited to debut.

"[Angelica] has patiently waited in the wings to compete on the collegiate stage, and she is chopping at the bits to show everyone what she is capable of doing at this level," said Dagenais.

Admission to each of the Knights' contests is free of charge to any fans wanting to attend.
