March 1, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. - Chris Taladay's performance in the three-game series against Siena over the weekend helped the UCF baseball team to a series win and he has been named the Bright House Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts.

Taladay had his first collegiate homer on Friday night which resulted in two more runs and secured the team's lead over Siena. Taladay leads the team with a .500 batting average and fell just one double shy of tying the school record with three doubles in a 3-for-4 game with three runs scored on Sunday afternoon.

The designated hitter/catcher also had a hit and a run in the team's game at Florida last week and is 9-for-18 with six runs, six RBI, four doubles, one homer and a stolen base for the 2010 season.

The Knights have a 6-1 record and will continue with a home game against Duquesne March 2 at 4 p.m.
