ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Former UCF offensive lineman Cornell Green is shuffling off to Buffalo as the Bills signed Green to a reported three-year $9 million contract yesterday to help sure up their offensive line. Green had started at right tackle for the Oakland Raiders for the past three seasons.

One of UCF's Conference USA-high 15 alums in the NFL in 2009, Green was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team which won Super Bowl XXXVII and has also played for several other teams since leaving Orlando in 1998.

"I had an opportunity to visit a couple of other teams, but Buffalo made me feel real comfortable," Green said during a conference call with the Buffalo News and other outlets. "Everything was first class here. I feel comfortable coming here. I feel comfortable moving my family here. I'm glad to have an opportunity to play over here."

The Bills were excited to add his veteran presence to help bring around a young line.

"I've been in the league 10 years now and one thing they've encouraged me to bring here is the leadership I do have," Green told Buffalobills.com. "I've been waiting for a long time to get this opportunity to be a leader and be an example for other guys. I've been a lot of places in my career. I've won a Super Bowl in Tampa so I bring some intangibles that a lot of guys don't have right now because of their inexperience. I'm just willing to work with the guys and be a part of the team."
