ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Tuesday's edition of UCF Sports Today with Kirk Speraw will take a look at the positive impact that former UCF star Jermaine Taylor, who is now playing in the NBA with the Houston Rockets, has had on the current group of Knights. The 30-minute show airs at 10:30 a.m. on Bright House Sports Network, 12:30 p.m. on UCF TV and statewide on Sun Sports at 4 p.m.
As a senior in 2008-09, Taylor averaged 26.2 points, good for third nationally. The shooting guard was named the Conference USA Player of the Year, and also earned All-America honors from several media outlets. Taylor was selected by Washington with the 32nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, and was traded to Houston on draft night.
This week's show also includes highlights from UCF's 67-56 victory at East Carolina last week. During the program, Speraw and host Marc Daniels will also preview the squad's contest at Memphis. The Knights will meet the host Tigers Wednesday at 7 p.m. Eastern.
The show includes music from local bands The Dropa Stone (myspace.com/thedropastone), Syph (myspace.com/syph) and Orange Avenue (myspace.com/orangeavenuemusic.com).
UCF's next home game is Saturday against Tulane at 4 p.m.
