ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On Wednesday evening against visiting UAB, freshman forward Keith Clanton (Orlando, Fla.) grabbed rebound after rebound. Clanton recorded six boards on the offensive end and finished with a season-best 15 rebounds against the Blazers.

The heralded freshman had a great all-around performance, totaling 13 points and four blocks, but his work on the glass really stood out.

His 15 rebounds were the most recorded by a Knight in Conference USA play since the program joined the league in 2005, and were the most boards by a UCF player since Paul Reed grabbed 20 at Marist on Dec. 22, 2001.

Clanton has totaled at least 10 boards five times this season and is averaging a team-high 6.7 rebounds. His 180 rebounds place him second on the school freshman Division I single-season boards list, trailing only Ken Leeks (268, 1990-91).

Clanton and the Knights will return to action Saturday at Marshall. The team's home finale is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the UCF Arena against East Carolina.

Notes: Sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) hit three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 15 points against UAB. He is shooting 42.1 percent from 3-point range in 2009-10, good for second in C-USA... The Knights will practice on campus Thursday afternoon and then leave for West Virginia Friday morning.
