Orlando, Fla. - Leger Douzable spent the 2008 season and part of 2009 with the New York Giants before joining the St. Louis Rams later in the 2009 season. He was a motivated player who took advantage of every opportunity that was given to him.
Douzable was inactive for the 2009 season-opener against the Washington Redskins on September 13th. He was cut by the Giants on September 15th and signed as a free agent to the St. Louis Rams practice squad on September 17th. Less than two weeks later, on September 30th, he was signed to the Rams active roster.
After making the Rams' active roster, Douzable saw action immediately. He played in his first career NFL regular season game on October 4th against the San Francisco 49ers. Douzable played in 12 games in the 2009 season and started one game. His most productive game was in his start against the Houston Texans where he recorded four tackles. Douzable finished the 2009 season with 11 tackles.
At UCF, Douzable started 24 of the 49 games he played in from 2004-2007. His career totals include 102 tackles (26.5 for loss) and 15 sacks. Douzable played in all 11 games as a true freshman at defensive tackle and finished with four tackles. As a sophomore, he played in 12 games with one start and finished the season with 17 tackles (two for loss). He started nine of the 12 games he played in 2006, and led the team with seven sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss as a junior. Douzable was named by the media to the 2006 All-Conference USA third team for his performance. He started all 14 games as a senior, including the C-USA Championship game and the Liberty Bowl. Douzable finished his senior season with 49 total tackles (37 solo) and 7.5 sacks. He was also a two-time Academic All-Conference USA selection.
