LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer team concluded a stretch of three games against Major League Soccer opponents Tuesday, and the Knights again put up a valiant effort. Getting a goal from Kevan George (Decatur, Ga.), UCF went into halftime tied at 1-1 before the Dynamo posted a 4-1 victory at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
After playing nearly 30 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Dynamo dented the scoredboard first with a 28th minute goal from Navion Boyd. However, the resilient Knights fought back and George scored the equalizer in the 36th minute after a free kick from Eduardo Jimenez (Miami, Fla.).
The play of Dominic Oduro put the game out of reach in the second half as the Dynamo player scored a hat trick in a 14-minute span.
Another highlight for the Knights was the play of freshman goalkeeper Will Hetico (Cocoa Beach, Fla.), who stopped a penalty kick in net.
Tuesday's game was the third for UCF this spring against an MLS opponent. The Knights tied Toronto FC on Feb. 11 and fell 4-0 to FC Dallas on Feb. 19.
UCF will continue its spring slate on March 3, hosting Saint Leo at the UCF Soccer Complex at 3 p.m.
