UCF Prepares to Meet State-Rival No. 29 USF

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With a 5-1 record the UCF women's tennis team has its best start since the 2001-02 season. And the Knights will be home once again as they host No. 29 USF Wednesday at 3 p.m.

UCF defeated Memphis this past Sunday, 6-1. Senior Katie Orletsky and junior Jenny Frisell improved their record at the No. 1 doubles spot to 3-1 after defeating Ashley Murdock and Marjorie Ondeck, 8-4. Sophomore Alexis Rodriguez had a long battle with Ondeck at the No. 3 singles spot. The match went to a third-set super tiebreaker where Rodriguez claimed the victory, 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 1-0 (10-6).

The Bulls are coming off a 7-0 win against Memphis moving them to 4-2 on the season. Irene Rehberger is No. 26 in the nation in singles. Meanwhile, Rehberger and Melissa Koning are ranked No. 15 in doubles.

The Knights will travel south this weekend to face FAU Saturday at 2 p.m.
