Twelve UCF Football Signees Named to Florida All-State Teams

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF football proudly welcomed one of the best recruiting classes of its history two weeks ago. Over the over the past few weeks, 12 of UCF's signees were selected to Florida All-State football teams at their respective levels.

Amongst the first team selections at the 6A level were Miami-Dade County's all-time leading passer, Jeffrey Godfrey, wide receiver Joshua Reese, and standout 355-pound defensive tackle Jose Jose. Defensive back Perry Meiklejohn was a first-team pick at the 1A level.

On the 6A second team, Woodley Cadet and LeBranden Richardson were chosen while E.J. Dunston was named to the 4A second team, and both Jordan Ozerities and Zach Soto earned a spot on the 2B all-state second team.

UCF's 6A third team all-state picks consisted of twin offensive linemen Justin and Jordan McCray. Quarterback Blake Bortles of Oviedo was named an honorable mention all-state pick at the 5A level as well.

With a wide array of talent on both sides of the ball from new signees, joining a team that earned a bowl bid in 2009, the Knights look ahead to an exciting football season.

The Knights' six-game home schedule in 2010 features Conference USA East Division rivals East Carolina, Southern Miss and UAB, with West Division Rice also making its first appearance at Bright House Stadium. UCF's non-conference slate has NC State from the Atlantic Coast Conference in September and South Dakota to help open the season.
