ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team returns to action this weekend as it travels nearby to Deland to face Stetson. The match will begin at 12 p.m. on Saturday at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
Saturday's match will begin the Knights (1-1) four-match tour around Florida, as the team will also travel to Florida Atlantic, Miami and North Florida.
After their home season opener was postponed due to rain, the Knights defeated Georgia Southern in a 6-1 victory on Sunday. The Knights swept the Eagles in doubles competition and then won five of six singles matches. UCF's 21st-ranked duo of senior Marc Rocafort (Barcelona, Spain) and junior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) clinched the doubles point for UCF with an 8-3 win at the No. 1 spot against Gregory Bekkers and Juan Melian Puigventos.
This will be the third match for Stetson (2-0) this season after 7-0 sweeps over Bethune-Cookman and Florida Gulf Coast. Saturday's match marks the first time the Knights will face the Hatters after a 6-1 loss in 2008.
Following Stetson, head coach Bobby Cashman's Knights will travel to Boca Raton where they will face Florida Atlantic on Feb. 19 at 2 p.m.
