DALLAS (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF's previous two trips to Moody Coliseum did not go well for the Knights, as the team fell on both occasions to SMU. The trend continued Wednesday.

Nothing went right for UCF as the Mustangs rolled to a 65-43 Conference USA victory. SMU shot 52.5 percent overall and made 8-of-18 (44.4 percent) of its attempts from 3-point range.

The Knights (10-10, 2-4 C-USA) were playing on the road for the third time in their last four games. SMU improved to 9-10 overall and 2-3 in league play.

The Mustangs led 41-16 at the break after shooting 54.2 percent from the field in the opening half. The hosts made 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) of its 3-point attempts before intermission.

Robert Nyakundi, who shot 4-of-8 from deep for the contest, scored a game-high 18 points in the win. He was one of three Mustangs who finished with double-digits in points.

The Knights shot just 36.2 percent from the floor, and committed 17 turnovers. Freshman forward Keith Clanton (Orlando, Fla.) led the Knights with 11 points and seven rebounds.

SMU led 10-2 six minutes into the game, and pushed its advantage to as many as 27 in the first half.

On Saturday, the Knights will face a difficult test, hosting one of the league's top squads in Tulsa. Tip-off at the UCF Arena is set for 5 p.m.
