Jan. 27, 2010

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Track and field athlete Jackie Coward had a strong performance at the Carle/Health Alliance Classic this past weekend in Illinois, and has been recognized as UCF'S Bright House Student-Athlete of the Week.

The 2009 NCAA Indoor All-American had another strong meet, running the 60-meter hurdles in 8.27 seconds and posting another provisional qualifying mark. The provisional mark is Coward's second consecutive after running in the same event at the Kentucky Invitational on Jan. 10. The sophomore was the second-highest finishing runner in the preliminaries and finished second in the finals.

The Knights will compete again this weekend on Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th at the Rod McCravy Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky.
