ORLANDO, Fla. - One of seven newcomers to join the UCF softball team in 2010, junior Lindsey Palulis (Orlando, Fla) is looking to make an immediate impact on the team and earn playing time behind the plate.

Palulis originally started her UCF career as a manager for the softball team, but earned a spot on the Knights' roster as a catcher at the end of the fall season.

A transfer from Florida Community College at Jacksonville, Palulis led her team to the FCCAA State Championship in 2009 and to its first national tournament. She hit .216 with 11 hits, two doubles, and nine RBI as a sophomore.

The catcher was a varsity starter for University High School in Orlando for four years, leading the team as captain for her last three seasons under head coach Adriana Patron. Palulis earned her squad's Rookie of the Year award in 2004 and was named her team's Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2007. Palulis also received three varsity letters in weightlifting.

Palulis was a member of Cougar Council, a four year honor roll member and was a Bright Futures Scholarship qualifier.

Palulis played travel ball for the Orlando Wildcats.

Palulis is the daughter of Victor and Michelle Palulis. She has a brother, Brian, and two sisters Kathleen and Roseanne. She is majoring in psychology and hopes to become a marriage and family counselor.

Season tickets for the 2010 season are only $40 and are on sale now. Tickets can be purchase online at UCFAthletics.com or through the Athletics Ticket Office by calling (407) 823-1000.
