ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF baseball head coach Terry Rooney and several other prominent skippers across the country from the American Baseball Coaches Association contributed to the recently released book Practice Perfect Baseball. Rooney wrote the chapter "Assessing Team Strengths," joining coaches such as Cal State Fullerton's Dave Serrano, Missouri's Tim Jamieson and Stetson's Pete Dunn who discussed topics ranging from setting up practices to equipment and technology.

The book is currently for sale by Human Kinetics, and can be purchased by calling 1-800-747-4457, clicking on the above link or by visiting its website at HumanKinetics.com and clicking on sports and baseball. There are 14 chapters in all, and a detailed description of the book can be found on the purchase page online.

In just his first year at UCF, Rooney guided the Knights to several athletic, academic and attendance records in 2008-09. He followed that up by bringing in a unanimous top-10 recruiting class for the 2010 season.

Before coming to Orlando, Rooney spent 12 years as an assistant coach, including stops at Stetson, Notre Dame and LSU, where he helped lead the Tigers to the College World Series in 2008. Meanwhile, 32 of Rooney's pitchers have been taken in the MLB Draft, highlighted by 10 hurlers in the first 10 rounds.

Season tickets for UCF's 2010 campaign are already on sale. The Knights will play 36 games at home this year, and reserved chairbacks are just $199, while reserved bleachers seats are only $150. Faculty/staff, youth and senior season tickets are $99. To purchase tickets, call 407-823-1000 or visit UCFAthletics.com.
