ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On Nov.21, as UCF's football team went up against Conference USA opponent Tulane, another exciting event was occurring, even prior to kick-off.
Many local children were given the opportunity to perform on the field at Bright House Networks Stadium alongside the UCF cheerleaders and KnightMoves dance team as a part of the UCF spirit program's Cheerleading and Dance Day. Young performers participated in a pre-game cheerleading clinic at noon before making their way onto the field for the pre-game festivities which they were able to play a part in.
Other than performing amongst the cheerleaders and dancers, youth participants were recognized on the scoreboard and were given a "Future UCF Knight" T-shirt for taking part in the event.
An event similar to this will be held again at the end of January when the KnightMoves dance team hosts a Youth Dance Clinic for children aged 7-14. Each participant will learn age appropriate and fun routines choreographed by the UCF KnightMoves Dance Team and learn dance tips and techniques.
Registration for the clinic to be held Jan. 30 will be at noon with the clinic starting at 12:30 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Participants will also have the unique opportunity to return and perform a routine with our UCF dance team at pre-game and halftime of the 5:00 p.m. game against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.
