ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Head coach Joi Williams and the UCF women's basketball team have currently gone their separate ways to take a break from the season and celebrate the holidays. When they return to Orlando on Saturday, however, the Knights will be preparing for one of the biggest days in the program's history.

On Tuesday, Dec. 29, UCF will host Notre Dame at 12 p.m. At 10-0 and ranked third in the country in both Top-25 polls, the Fighting Irish will be the highest ranked team to ever visit the UCF Arena. Notre Dame enters having defeated its 10 opponents by an average of 26.5 points per game and with Skylar Diggins features one of the nation's best freshmen.

Not only is the game against one of the nation's top teams, it will also be televised live nationally on CBS College Sports. The game is one of six televised contests for UCF this season, and Dave Ryan will handle the play-by-play duties while Debbie Antonelli will serve as the color analyst.

Adding to the excitement of the contest, a milestone will certainly be in reach during the game as junior Emma Cannon (Rochester, N.Y.) enters the game needing just four points to become the program's 12th member of the 1,000-point club.

The game will be the first of three at the UCF Arena on Dec. 29 as the UCF men's basketball team hosts its Holiday Classic beginning that evening. Buffalo and Jacksonville will square off at 4:30 p.m. and UCF will host Liberty at 7 p.m. Any fan who purchases a ticket in advance for either session of the UCF Holiday Classic on Dec. 29-30 will receive a free ticket to the women's contest against Notre Dame. The first 200 fans will also receive a free t-shirt.

The conclusion of the women's basketball game does not end the excitement for the Knights. At halftime of the UCF men's contest, Williams and her team will be honored as the 2009 Conference USA Tournament Championship banner will be unveiled in the rafters of UCF Arena.

Season and single-game tickets are currently available with the UCF Ticket Office. Knight fans can purchase season tickets for each of the team's 14 home games for just $39. For more information on purchasing tickets, contact the UCF ticket office at (407) 823-1000.
