UCF Men's Golf Announces Signing Class

UCF men's golf coach Bryce Wallor has announced the Knights' fall signing class. The group consists of two premiere players in Kyle Wilshire (Georgetown, Ky.) and local product Hojin Kang (Lake Mary, Fla.). Both Wilshire and Kang signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Knights, and will join the program in 2010.

Kyle Wilshire, Georgetown, Ky./Scott County Listed as the 72nd-best senior and the 134th-best junior player in the nation by Junior Golf Scorebard... Ranked 264th nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin junior rankings... Placed in top-20 with lowest score at the Kentucky High School Regional in September 2009... Placed third at the Bubba Conlee National Junior Golf Tournament in 2009... Posted an 11th place showing at the Kearney Hill Golf Links in 2009... Finished eighth at the 2008 Kentucky Junior Amateur... Was an individual qualifier at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association in 2008... Tied for third at the Junior All-Star at Petersburg in 2008... Finished first at the Kearney Hill Golf Links in 2007.

Hojin Kang, Lake Mary, Fla./Lake Mary Ranked 186th nationally by the Junior Golf Scoreboard... Ranked 329th nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin junior rankings... Finished third at the Rio Pinar Country Club Tournament in 2009... Tied for 29th at the Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden, N.C., in 2009... Tied for second in the Orange County National in 2009... Competed in the Boys Junior Championship in West Palm Beach in 2009...named to Orlando Sentinel All-Central Florida first team in 2008... Awarded Golfer of the Year for Seminole County in 2008... Finished as runner-up as an individual at Florida Class 2A state meet... Placed second at the LPGA International Golf Course in 2008.

Wallor is currently in his first year coaching the men's golf team. The Knights competed in four events this fall and will return to action this February at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
