ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After helping the Gold team claim the Black & Gold World Series title in a two game to one victory, senior Chris Duffy has been recognized as the Bright House Student-Athlete of the week.
Duffy had a .455 batting average in the series, going 5-for-11 with three doubles, four runs, four RBI and one stolen base. He posted a .727 slugging percentage and a .538 on-base percentage. After Gold dropped game one, Duffy went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and runs scored to lift his squad to a 5-4 walk-off victory. To finish off the series, he collected three more hits as well as two RBI and two runs as Gold clinched the series with a 9-2 triumph.
The end of the Black &Gold World Series marked the conclusion of UCF baseball's fall camp. The Knights announced their 2010 schedule earlier this week and season tickets are already on sale.
