Tailgating Time Change for Homecoming

Nov. 6, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. - To accommodate the early Homecoming parade and noon kickoff, UCF will open the campus for tailgating activities at 7 a.m. for the Saturday, Nov. 14 football game against the Houston Cougars.

This is a one-time change, and the tailgating start time will return to 8 a.m. for the Tulane game the following Saturday, Nov. 21.

Following normal game day policy, the open container waiver for the Houston game will end at game start (12:00 p.m.), and tailgating activities will end two hours after the game is over.

The Gold Zone, the area of campus closest to Bright House Networks Stadium, will be closed to normal vehicular traffic starting at 8:30 a.m. Vehicles entering the Gold Zone after 8:30 a.m. must have a special game day parking permit or an official DMV disabled parking permit.

Other lots on campus may be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Football fans are encouraged to join us for the 9:30 a.m. Homecoming parade, which will feature UCF alumnus and Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Phil Dalhausser as the grand marshal. If you plan to watch the parade, you should arrive on campus by 9 a.m.

The parade will begin on Greek Park Drive and travel clockwise along North Gemini Boulevard before ending in front of the UCF Arena. To accommodate the float building on Central Florida Boulevard, parking lots B5 and B6 will be closed at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. These lots will remain closed Saturday morning until all Homecoming floats have been staged on Greek Park Drive (about 6:00 a.m.).

We hope you will join us during our exciting week of Homecoming activities, including a comedy show, concert and more. Visit www.ucfhc.com or www.ucfalumni.com/knightfest for a schedule of the week's events.
