Oct. 9, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - With only two meets remaining before the Conference USA Championships, the UCF cross country team will compete close to home Saturday morning at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The women's 5K race is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.

The Knights are coming off a second-place finish at the FLRunners.com Invitational last week in Titusville. Senior Jamie Rzepecki (East Aurora, N.Y.) led the way for UCF for the fourth time in as many meets this season, finishing sixth in 18:38.48.

The Knights also got top-10 finishes from senior Erica Weitz (Morganville, N.J.), junior Ocean Cohen (Sarasota, Fla.) and senior Carley Dart (Whitby, Ontario). Weitz and Dart both set personal bests in the meet, with Weitz crossing the line in 18:41.55 and Dart breaking the 19-minute mark for the first time in 18:57.62.

After competing at Disney, UCF will participate in the Hatter Invitational next Friday in DeLand. The C-USA Championships in Houston will be held on Oct. 31.
