ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Coming off of a strong performance this past weekend at the Seminole Invitational, the UCF men's tennis team will return to action Thursday, hosting the three-day UCF Invitational. Admission to the tournament at the UCF Tennis Complex is free.
The event will feature members of the UCF and South Carolina teams. The tournament kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with doubles competition.
Another round of doubles will start at 9 a.m. Friday, followed by the first round of singles action. The tournament will end Saturday with a singles round at 9 a.m.
The event will feature a round-robin format with four singles and two doubles flights.
In Tallahassee this past weekend, the Knights received several strong performances. Most notably, sophomores Joe Delinks (Falmouth, Mass.) and Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.) took the Doubles B Draw title. In the championship match, the Knights rallied for a 9-7 win over Graham Edgar and Daniel Sotomarino of North Florida.
Junior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) and sophomore Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) advanced to the Doubles A Draw semifinals.
