COMPLETE RESULTS

MACON, Ga. - For the second weekend in a row, the UCF women's golf team placed two individuals of the top 10 of an event, this time freshman Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) and sophomore Elisa Aoki (Bradenton, Fla.), as the Knights competed at the Eat A Peach Collegiate hosted by Mercer University at the par-72, 6,181-yard Idle Hour Country Club in Macon, Ga.

UCF as a team shot a 301 on Monday, six strokes better than its opening round tally of 307 from Sunday and the third-best score in a 12-team field today. UCF's combined score of 608 (+32) left it in sixth place overall for the tournament, nine strokes back of event champion No. 9 Georgia's 599 (+23).

In tough weather conditions, Fontaine shot a 73 (+1) on Monday, the third-best score in the 66 golfer field, to lift her into a tie for sixth-place for the event with a 149 (+5). It is the second time in three events that Fontaine has been UCF's lowest scorer as she also topped all Knights in the stroke play portion of the season-opening Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championships in Daytona Beach. At that event, the freshman went on to win her match in UCF's 3-2 victory over Colorado.

Aoki placed in the top 10 for the second event in a row as she tied for eighth in Macon, shooting matching scores of 75 for an overall tally of 150 (+6). Aoki also tied for second amongst the Knights, placing fifth overall, last week at the Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational. Amongst the players Aoki tied in Macon was Macarena Silva of Florida State, the co-medalist at last weekend's event.

Freshman Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) was UCF's third-finisher with a 156 (+12) that tied her for 33rd place, a stroke ahead of senior Victoria Tomko (Lontzen, Belgium) who shot a 157 (+13). Junior Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) shaved 10 strokes off of her Sunday score by firing a 75 on Monday to move into a tie for 46th overall with a 160 (+16) on the event. Competing as an individual, freshman Sammy Vass (Tain, Scotland) had a 160 (+26).

The Knights will take a couple of weeks off before wrapping up their fall season on Oct. 26-27 when they head to Fort Myers for the Pat Bradley Invitational.
