TAMPA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Day two of the USF Invitational Saturday brought more success for the UCF men's tennis team. The Knights took four of seven singles tilts and also won two doubles matches.
In Flight 1 action, senior Marc Rocafort (Barcelona, Spain) rallied for a 3-6, 6-1, (17-15) win over Jamal Adderly of host USF. Rocafort improved to 2-0 at the tournament.
On Saturday, UCF players squared off against USF players.
Junior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) met Mark Oljaca in Flight 4 and rallied for a 4-6, 7-6, (7-4) win. Against Juan Carlos in Flight 5, senior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) also rallied for a victory (6-7, 6-2, (13-11).
In Flight 6 against Yannick Yoshizawa, freshman Mario Samson (Miami, Fla.) eased to a 6-3, 6-3 win.
Play began Sunday at the tournament. LSU and Miami are also competing on the USF campus.
In Flight 1 doubles, Rocafort and Schwartz destroyed Peter Frank and Thomas Estrada, 8-0. In Flight 2, sophomore Joe Delinks (Falmouth, Mass.) and senior Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) were 8-6 winners over Yoshizawa and Wael Kilani.
The tournament in Tampa is the last event of the fall for UCF.
