TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Day two of the Seminole Invitational brought more success for the UCF men's tennis team. The Knights excelled in doubles Saturday on the Florida State campus.
In the Doubles B Draw, two UCF tandems met in the semifinals. In the match, sophomores Joe Delinks (Falmouth, Mass.) and Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.) held on for a 9-8 (4) win over sophomore Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) and freshman Mario Samson (Miami, Fla.) to advance to the finals.
Playing in the Doubles A Draw, senior Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) and junior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) advanced to the semifinals by taking an 8-2 win against Anderson Reed and Aaron May of Florida State.
In Singles A Draw action, Romano fell 1-6, 6-4, 7-4 to USF's Juan Carlos Acuna in the quarterfinals. Facing Reed in consolation play, Beigart recorded a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win.
Delinks and Schwartz both fell in singles tilts Saturday.
Play in Tallahassee will conclude Sunday.
