ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will play in its second out-of-state tournament this fall beginning this Thursday at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship in Athens, Ga. Three Knights will be representing UCF in the four-day tournament hosted by Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Senior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.), junior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.), and sophomore Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) are all set to play in the main draw singles bracket.
In doubles action, Sakey and Romano will begin competition Friday against Antoine Benneteau and Alexandre Lacroix of Florida.
Thirteen teams will compete in the ITA Southeast Regional Championship, nine from the state of Florida.
Earlier this month the Knights hosted the UCF Invitational at the UCF Tennis Complex. Schwartz and Sakey both posted wins to secure the singles titles in their flights. Romano and Sakey teamed up to win the title in doubles play.
