ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After school started in August, the Knights began working out as a team several times per week. The squad worked in the weight room, and also had individual sessions with coaches on the court.
With the squad opening practice this past Friday, the younger Knights now have to adapt to college practices. With 13 underclassmen, UCF should have one of the youngest teams in the nation. The roster includes six true freshmen.
Junior guard Taylor Young (Orlando, Fla.) has been impressed with his younger teammates so far. He hopes that they can handle the intensity of the practices.
"A lot of the young guys have come in and stepped up," he said. "I hope that they continue to do that in practice. The workouts have been very intense. We need to build on that."
Young and the Knights will open the regular season on Nov. 13, hosting Massachusetts at the UCF Arena. Season tickets, which begin at just $79, are currently on sale. To order your season tickets, call (407) UCF-1000 or visit UCFAthletics.com.
