ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - This past Friday, Oct. 9, members of the UCF women's rowing team went to the Central Florida Children's Home to help the organization. They assisted with unloading 1000 pumpkins from a trailer. The pumpkins are part of a fundraiser that supports the daily expense of raising 21 children who currently live in the home.
"The goal of our staff and student-athletes who attended this function was to show our support for the home and assist in a way other than just writing a check," said Jessica Reo, UCF's senior associate athletics director. The Central Florida Children's Home currently partners with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee within the UCF Athletics department to provide opportunities for student-athletes to interact with children from the home.
The Central Florida Children's Home is a residence for children of all ages whose parents are no longer around or do not have the means to take care of them. If you would like to support this cause and buy some pumpkins come out to the Children's Homes located at 12569 Narcoossee Rd Orlando, Fla. 32832.
