Oct. 12, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - One of the highlights of the UCF women's basketball schedule, the Knights' home non-conference game against Notre Dame at 1 p.m. on Dec. 29, will be televised live by CBS College Sports, the Conference USA office announced.

The announcement means that UCF will make an appearance on national television twice during the 2009-10 regular season, with both games being home games and a chance to showcase UCF Arena. The Knights' home game against UAB on Sunday, Jan. 17 will be televised live by ESPN2.

UCF, set to begin practice for the 2009-10 season on Friday, returns 10 letterwinners from a 2008-09 team which won the Conference USA Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Emma Cannon (Rochester, N.Y.) is back for her junior season after averaging 15.5 points and 11.6 points per contest a season ago. The forward broke the school record for rebounds and ranked fifth nationally in rebounds per game.

Notre Dame is one of three 2008-09 NCAA Tournament teams on the UCF schedule this season. The Fighting Irish went 22-9 a season ago before falling in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Minnesota. Head coach Muffet McGraw's team returns 12 letterwinners and welcomes the consensus 2008-09 high school player of the year, Skylar Diggins.

Including its postseason run, the Knights appeared on national television four times last season, including two games on CBS College Sports and another two on ESPN2.

Season tickets are currently with the UCF Ticket Office. Knight fans can purchase season tickets for each of the team's 14 home games for just $39.

Women's basketball season tickets can also be purchased with the UCF Gold Pass, which grants fans admission to every women's basketball home game as well as each volleyball and softball home contest. The UCF Gold Pass costs just $79 and saves fans a total of $34.
