LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Facing a crowded field Saturday morning at the Wide World of Sports Complex, UCF was led by senior Erica Weitz (Morganville, N.J.) en route to a second-place finish at the Disney Cross Country Classic.

UCF just missed claiming the team title with 83 points, only four points behind Kennesaw State. In a field of 30 teams, Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne, Florida Atlantic and Milligan rounded out the top five.

"I am so proud of the team," said head coach Tyangela Sanders. "We are working more as a team this year and a lot of the runners have benefitted. We have worked so hard this year and it is great to get second overall. It should be a great confidence booster heading into conference."

Weitz led UCF across the finish line for the first time this season with a 10th-place finish. She completed the race in 19:18.30, just 12 seconds clear of teammate Ocean Cohen (Sarasota, Fla.) in 11th.

Less than one second apart, senior Jamie Rzepecki (East Aurora, N.Y.) and freshman Alyssa Franks were next for UCF in 21st and 22nd respectively. Senior Carley Dart (Whitby, Ontario) was the last Knight to score in the meet, finishing in 27th place in 20:01.50.

UCF has just one meet remaining in the regular season before setting its sights on the Conference USA Championships in Houston on Oct. 31. The Knights will compete in DeLand, Fla., at the Hatters Invitational.
