Women's Golf to Compete in Georgia

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - This weekend the UCF women's golf team travels to Macon, Ga., to play in the second annual Eat a Peach Collegiate women's golf tournament, hosted by Mercer University.

Twelve teams will compete for the Eat a Peach title. The 2008 winner was Augusta State, who the Knights finished ahead of in their most recent tournament at Kentucky.

This tournament is a 36-hole, two-day event at The Idle Hour Club. The golf course is a par 72 and plays to 6,063 yards. Each team will compete with five players and score four. Tee times begin off of hole No. 1 at 8 a.m. Sunday and continue with the final round tee time off holes No. 1 and No. 10 at 8 a.m. Monday morning.

Senior Victoria Tomko (Lontzen, Belgium), junior Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) sophomore Elisa Aoki (Bradenton, Fla.), and freshmen Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) and Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) will be in action for the Knights. Freshman Sammy Vass (Tain, Scotland) will also compete in the tournament as an individual.

This will be the third event of the season for the Knights.
