ORLANDO (UCFAthletics.com) - On Tuesday, the UCF women's soccer team learned that it ranked fifth in the first edition of the NCAA RPI report this year. And NCAA.com's Amy Farnum took note by highlighting the Knights on their website.

Thanks to playing an incredibly difficult non-conference schedule and going 5-2-1 in the process, UCF climbed into the top five of the most important rankings of the season. The RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) is used by the NCAA selection committee to determine the 64-team field for the postseason.
The Black and Gold went 2-2-1 vs. teams placed in the top-25 of the RPI, with victories over No. 3 Florida State and No. 25 UAB in the Conference USA opener. Its two losses were to No. 1 North Carolina and No. 6 South Carolina, while the Knights tied No. 14 LSU.
Ranked as high as No. 16 in this week's national polls, UCF hosts RPI No. 74 UTEP Friday at 7 p.m. and RPI No. 39 Colorado College Sunday at noon in a pair of C-USA matches. Admission to the UCF Soccer Complex is free.
