ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Drew Butera is about to conclude his first full season in Triple-A Monday when his Rochester Red Wings visits the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. A product of the Minnesota Twins organization, Butera played with the Knights from 2003-05 and was selected by the New York Mets in the fifth round of the 2005 MLB Draft.

An exceptional defensive backstop throughout his career, Butera has played in 98 games at Rochester this season, hitting.214 with 25 RBI and 23 runs scored. He has continued to work his way up the minors, playing short-season Class A ball in 2005, full-season Class A in 2006, advanced Class A in 2007 and Double-A in 2008.
