ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will begin its second event of the fall season Friday when play starts at the Seminole Invitational in Tallahassee. Seven Knights are scheduled to compete at the three-day tournament.
Junior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) and sophomore Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) are both set to play in the Flight A singles bracket. Seniors Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) and Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.), sophomores Joe Delinks (Falmouth, Mass.) and Eugene Dolgovykh (Palm Coast, Fla.) and freshman Mario Samson (Miami, Fla.) are slated to participate in the Flight B singles bracket.
In doubles action, Beigart and Schwartz will team to compete in Flight A, while Sakey and Delinks, plus Romano and Samson will look for success in Flight B.
Head coach Bobby Cashman's Knights began the fall campaign on Sept. 19 at the Southern Intercollegiates in Athens, Ga. Due to rain, UCF's four participants were only able to play a few matches at the three-day tournament.
Beigart, Delinks, Dolgovykh and Samson will all be playing for the first time this fall when the squad competes in Tallahassee.
