ORLANDO, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - Victoria Tomko, a senior on the UCF women's golf team, has been awarded Bright House Student-Athlete of the week after an impressive showing at the Bettie Lou Evans Fall Invitational this past weekend at the University of Kentucky.
Tomko tied for third place overall in a field of 82 golfers and played a crucial role in leading UCF to a second place team finish, only five strokes behind Florida State. The senior's first round 72 (even par) established a career-low for Tomko. Her second round 73 (+2) matched her previous career low and included an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole.
Tomko finished ahead of seven of the eight players ranked in the Golfstat Top 100 that competed in the field.
The Knights will take to the tee again when they head to Macon, Ga. for the Eat a Peach Collegiate hosted by Mercer University Oct. 4-5.
