ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's cross country team is prepared to start its 2009 season with a home meet on Saturday. The Knights are set to host the 2nd Black & Gold Invitational, the first of two home meets for UCF this season. The men's 8K race is scheduled to begin on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., and the women's 5K race will follow at 9:15 a.m. Both races will take place at the UCF Cross Country Complex.

Both the start and finish lines of the course are located near the UCF Softball Complex on North Orion Boulevard. Team and spectator parking will be in lot E8 across from the complex. There is free admission for all fans in attendance.

The meet currently includes six men's teams and seven women's teams. Bethune-Cookman, Flagler, Nova Southeastern, Rollins, St. Thomas and Warner will field teams in both the men's and women's events, while UCF will compete in the women's race.

The Knights won the Black & Gold Invitational last year, claiming six of the top eight spots. Graduated senior Allison Palmer won the event. Current senior Erica Weitz finished second while Katrina Skinner, Kathia Skinner, Shannon Kelly and Ocean Cohen rounded out the Knights' top runners.
