ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's soccer will be leaving home turf after two strong wins in the UCF Fall Classic. The Knights (2-1-0) will travel to play Jacksonville (0-2-0) at the Ashley Sports Complex on Saturday at 7 p.m.
While the Dolphins are looking for their first win of the season, UCF looks to win their third-straight game. Saturday's game will brush the dust off an in-state rivalry, with the two teams last meeting in 2004. That game resulted in a 1-0 UCF victory, and the Knights lead the all-time series against Jacksonville 16-13-2.
UCF is coming off of two home wins against North Florida and Georgia Southern. The Knights outshot their opponents a combined 42-17 in those two games, and are averaging nearly 10 more shots per game in 2009 than 2008. UCF has shown it has a diverse range of scorers, with six of the season's goals coming from five different players.
Upon returning from Jacksonville, UCF will host Houston Baptist on Friday, September 18, for the second edition of the UCF Fall Classic. The Knights' game is slated to kick off at 7:30 p.m., following Manhattan and Jacksonville at 5 p.m.
