"We've received great feedback on John's first few stories for the Knights Insider. UCF fans want more," said Joe Hornstein, UCF associate director of athletics. "We are ready to give them more. Marc Daniels has also started writing columns for UCFAthletics.com, and soon, we will have Jerry O'Neill coming aboard."

John Denton's Knights Insider launched last week with an exclusive question and answer session with football head coach George O'Leary. Denton has also provided readers with an insightful look at senior safety Michael Greco's shift to the defensive side of the ball from quarterback, written a story on sophomore quarterback Rob Calabrese and also talked to senior defensive tackles Travis Timmons and Torrell Troup. Marc Daniels' first From the Press Box column talked about what it will take for Conference USA to become the next BCS-busting league.

"We are now looking at the second phase, and that is to begin the e-mail update portion of this new campaign," added Hornstein. "It is critical that all of our fans fill out the short registration form at UCFAthletics.com."

Denton brings 18 years of professional journalism experience to his new role with the Knights. From 1997-09, he covered UCF, the Orlando Magic and the National Football League for Florida Today. He covered the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, eight National Basketball Association All-Star Games, four Super Bowls, four NBA Finals, the NBA's China Games in Shanghai and Macao and several other major sporting events.

Denton has also done extensive work with ESPN, reporting for "First Take" and "SportsCenter" and writing for ESPN.com. Denton, who began his writing career at The Jackson Sun in Tennessee, has won several national awards, including three Best of Gannett honors.

In his 15th year as UCF's radio voice, Marc Daniels serves as the play-by-play broadcaster for UCF football, men's basketball and baseball contests on the UCF-ISP Sports Network. He also hosts "UCF Sports Today with Kirk Speraw" and Speraw's and George O'Leary's weekly radio shows. Each weekday, Daniels hosts "The Beat of Sports" on ESPN 1080 AM in Orlando.
