Orlando, FL (www.UCFAthletics.com) - He is potentially one of the biggest UCF Knights fans the school has seen in a long time. His support of his alma mater will go unquestioned prior to this weekend's big game, when UCF alumnus Chris Mayr, '94, stages the first of his season-long UCF Friday Knights street parties at the Waterford Lakes Town Center on Friday, Sept. 4 beginning at 6 p.m. The event has no cover charge.
Mawyr expects the event to last till 10 p.m. and will consist of live music, food and fun for visitors of all ages who want to come out in support of the UCF football team the night before they take on the Samford Bulldogs in their season-opener on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. from Bright House Networks Stadium.
According to Mayr, "this will be a great event to come out and listen to live music, visit with fellow UCF fans, enjoy great food from area restaurants and shop with area merchants. There will be games for kids of all ages as the Black and Gold takes over East Orlando."
Highlighting the music side of the event is active local musicians "Don't Scare the Dog", who cover many Southern Rock and Blues hits. Several popular area food vendors will be on-hand to make sure the UCF crowd has their fill of good eats.
