ORLANDO, Fla. - UCF Athletics strives to create a safe and fun environment for all visitors and fans. To help facilitate this, UCF Athletics has partnered with In Stadium Solutions (ISS) to announce the implementation of a text-message based communication system at Bright House Networks Stadium for the start of the 2009 football season.
The text messaging system allows fans to communicate directly with the stadium's security command post if assistance is needed in dealing with any special needs inside the stadium. The system will be in place beginning two hours prior to each game.
Fans can simply text "41513" and type into the message the word "UCF," followed by a space, followed by a brief description of the issue and its location. Ushers, public safety personnel, first aid responders, or event staff will respond as needed.
"This product allows us to utilize existing technology to provide our patrons an easy and immediate means to instantly communicate issues they may be experiencing while in the stadium," said UCF Senior Associate Director for Internal Operations David Hansen. "Having the ability to receive instant feedback from our fans is a great tool in our pursuit to provide the best game day experience possible."
"We are thrilled to add UCF to our client roster," said Scott Meyers, VP of Sales and Marketing for ISS. "We feel every venue should afford their fans this discreet and instant way to alert stadium staff that someone or something is ruining their game day experience. We look forward to many years of insuring this opportunity for the Knight fans."
The system is currently used by venues in several major sporting leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB and NASCAR.
The ISS system has also been employed at some of the nation's recent premier sporting events, such as the 2009 BCS Championship Game, Super Bowl XLIII and the World Baseball Classic.
ISS is a privately held company based in South Florida. Their marketing and technical team has several years of experience in text message marketing and mobile phone content solutions.
