Sosa Scores Eight Versus United States at FIBA Championship

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (UCFAthletics.com) - On Tuesday, Puerto Rico faced the United States at the FIBA U19 World Championship and UCF sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) scored eight points in 20 minutes. The United States posted an 82-61 victory in the bracket play game.

Sosa shot 3-of-6 overall and 2-of-2 from beyond-the-arc. He also added four rebounds. Puerto Rico is 3-2 at the event and will return to action Wednesday versus Egypt.

In five games at the 16-team tournament, Sosa is averaging 11.2 points. He leads the event in 3-point field goal percentage (72.2) as he has made 13-of-18 attempts from deep.

As a freshman in 2008-09 at UCF, the shooting guard averaged 8.2 points in 19.7 minutes a contest. Sosa shot 45.2 percent (57-of-126) from 3-point range.
