AUCKLAND, New Zealand (UCFAthletics.com) - On Saturday, UCF sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) totaled eight points in Puerto Rico's 86-49 win over Angola at the FIBA U19 World Championship. Puerto Rico finished Group A play 2-1.
On Monday, Sosa's squad will open bracket play versus France.
In the victory over Angola, Sosa played 15 minutes. He shot 3-of-6 overall and connected on one 3-pointer. The shooting guard added an assist, one steal and one block.
Sosa is averaging 15.3 points at the 16-team tournament. He paces the event in 3-point field goal percentage. In three games, he has connected on 68.8 percent (11-of-16) of his attempts from deep.
As a freshman in 2008-09, Sosa averaged 8.2 points for the Knights.
